The Avoidance Loop

This isn't who you are.  It is a pattern you run.

It’s hard to see it when you’re in it.

SIGNAL

You already know what needs to happen. You just don’t do it. It doesn’t go away. Even when you ignore it. You wait for it to feel easier. You feel better when you delay it. Then worse later.

You know that.

PATTERN

Avoiding it feels better right now.

So you don’t do it.

Then it gets worse.

So you avoid it again.

COST

It stays in the back of your mind.

It doesn’t go away.

It follows you all day.

You still don’t do it.

Now it feels bigger than it is.
